What / Where I Ate - Blue Elephant

We opted to stroll around AsiaTown IT Park and have dinner at The Walk while my parents and I waited for my sister until 9pm last night.  It was a Friday night and the park was jam-packed with cars and all sorts of people.  It was almost 7pm when we arrived there.  My mom wanted to eat Bryan's Baby Backribs at Casa Verde, remember this post ? but I told her we will try another eatery, and there I discovered  BLUE ELEPHANT. Elephants greet you upon entry to the restaurant.  I believe this is owned by the proprietors of Siam and Krua Thai. cute bar counter Here are our orders for the night: apologizing for the grainy photos   Mama Noodle Soup - my rating : 9 I'm giving it a nine since I am tasting "that" ingredient that i sort of abho r in Thai cuisine, but anyway "that" made the noodle tasted authentic. My Dad really loved the soup!  Sauted Mixed Vegetables in Oyster Sauce - my rating : perfect 10 Love the taste and the crunchiness of the veggies , f.y.i. I&

Australian and Korean Cuisines

In a week, we dined at two restaurants of two different countries-cultures-cuisines. 1.) CANVAS BISTRO BAR GALLERY at the Terraces in Ayala. I was with my family and it was our first time at the bistro.  We do not have any idea what to order.  I have no pre-gathered reviews of the restaurant.  So I asked the lady, who attended to our table, as to which would be their best-seller.  She replied: Pork Medallion with Tiger Prawn and Pesto Fettuccine.  So I ordered it.  See the picture just right below.   We got a taste of their pasta and steak.     What I like in this bistro is that they serve healthy drinks such as Cranberry Juice and some tonic mixes.   and they do serve garlic bread as appetizers??  It is a gallery indeed with walls filled with framed jewelries from some jewelry artists.     And the bistro inspired me to start my own collection of HATS ! Got to leave you with this link for some Australian cuisine info:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_cuisine My review of the

What/Where I Ate - Fast-food Chains in Thailand

During our travel in Thailand a week ago, my good friend and I and who happens to be my best bud at work opted for the more familiar fast-food chains to feed us.  We did bravely try authentic Thai foods but they were not that gastronomically acceptable. I am not an avid fan of McDonald's but it's way better than eating unfamiliar foods with exotic tastes. Like in other countries , rice is not a staple food in the McDonald meals. So I ordered this Pork Burger meal with french fries and soda for 103 baht (Php 140++) Amazing since I paid for a regular meal and the fries and drinks were large.  But when you order for Go Large, they will give super XL fries and drinks that may be good for two or three pax. Another familiar fast-food is KFC ! Yehey!  Finally there was a meal with rice.   BUT, a BIG BUT... the chicken looks yummy but tasted yucky?? :-( The one in the cup is a tuna salad, quite ok.  Not to mention the rice, superb. The soda is ice-filled but the CO2 can still be tasted

What/Where I Ate - TsiBoom!

TSIBOOM is frequently the choice for dinner by our family when we go to Parkmall.   Love the food.  My parents are especially  fanatic of their Utan Bisaya  and btw, the rice is unlimited. Here's what we ordered earlier this evening:   UTAN BISAYA - was not able to take a picture, but my rating is a 10 , since the soup is as sumptuous as my mom's version of the veggie soup.   PANCIT CANTON - my dad's favorite   CALAMARES - not bad but not that good either RELLENONG TALONG with CRAB - first time to have a taste of this   and my favorite!  SIZZLING TANGUIGE, this is what keeps me coming back... so super like the sauce...

What / Where I Ate - Classic Savory

We tried dining at Classic Savory in SM.  The foods were not as palatable as I expected, but it still did fill in my hunger. Over-all restaurant rating: 6
