What / Where I Ate in San Francisco, California, U.S.A. - BOUDIN BAKERY CAFE

They say when in San Francisco, a first time tourist must not miss to have a bite of the famous and original San Francisco sourdough at BOUDIN Bakery Cafe!

But first, let's get to know: What is a SOURDOUGH?

Upon stepping inside the bakery cafe, we were greeted with a melange of merchandise, food and non-food.  But the yummy treats on the bakery counter have initially caught my attention.  Aside from being hungry that time, I was wowed with the sight of everything-delicious pastries.

And to our surprise, they have this conveyor, installed on the ceiling that transported metallic baskets of bread across the entire cafe / bakery / souvenir shop.

When in a new restaurant or cafe, ordering for food is not totally that arduous.  I guess I have said this in my other blog posts, that when dining first time in an eating establishment, it is a no-brainer to order for the BESTSELLER, the cream of the crop from the menu.

This is the BOUDIN CAFE ordering area.  From the recommended BEST OF BOUDIN chart, I opted for the Bowl of Soup / Half Sandwich and my officemate Sheynne, ordered for the Bowl of Soup / Small Salad which we both planned out for us to share during chowtime.

While waiting for our number to be called out, I looked around the souvenir items area and snapped some of the items which I was quite interested with.  I did not have excess dollars to purchase their seemingly pricey (I was on tight budget) stuff.

I love restaurants, cafes or even fast-food houses which have open kitchen and allows transparency on the food preparation processes.  This brilliant architectural and modern lay-out ensures the customers that confidence that the food they are about to engulf are clean, fresh and delicious.

Here's a what we ordered.  Water was my choice of drink.

Cafe Chronicles: SLT Cafe

A cafe inside a supermarket? A clever idea!

Yes, Sweet Little Things Cafe, more known as SLT Cafe has one of its branches situated inside a grocery store.  This particular branch of SLT Cafe is located at the Ground Floor, Fooda Saversmart, F. Cabahug Street, Mabolo, Cebu City.

And these were the goodies that we ordered:

Brownie Ala Mode  My rating: 8 of 10

Blue Berry Crumble Cupcake My rating: 6 of 10

Frost Coffee Mocha My rating: 7 of 10

My overall rating: food + ambiance + service + value for money = 6.5 of 10.
The sweets are okey (meaning, they tasted "just right" / "so-so")  but the ambiance is not as comfy compared to those typical cafes.
